Classes
Brass Open House
Brass Open House is a one-hour class designed for students playing a brass instrument at any level from beginner to advanced. The basic concepts and skills that are addressed are foundational to any level of successful brass playing and can be of benefit either as an introduction or review. The format consists of a series of 4 independent classes, each of which focuses on separate skills or techniques such as breathing, lip flexibility, or articulation. While brass instruments cover a large spectrum, they all require development of the same basic techniques because the foundation of all brass playing takes place between the mouthpiece and the lips. Because each class focuses on a different skill, it is not necessary to attend each class in sequence and each class is scheduled independently so it is not necessary to sign up for a sequence of classes. It can be helpful if people bring music that they are currently working on but this is not necessary.
